Renders patrol and other police service to the political subdivisions of the Town of Brookhaven (North) and the incorporated villages of Old Field, Poquott, Belle Terre, Shoreham and Port Jefferson.


Inspector, Commanding Officer 6th Precinct –Inspector Oswald holds a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Long Island University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va. He joined the Suffolk County Police Department in 1980 and has been the Commanding Officer of the 6th Precinct since November 2009.
